This is the story of the early exploration of Greenland's ice sheet and the scientific investigations that followed. Earth's largest laboratory might just hold the key to our future if we can only listen. As Gertner writes in the book, 'Ice is time solidified.' This book should be required reading for all, informative and very enjoyable, I highly recommend it.
